Sienna's Special Day

This little lady (who just posed like this on her own; DIVA), had her special day at school yesterday. She was pretty excited about it, and woke up early, ran into my room yelling "it's my special day mom!" I think the timing was perfect because we've been celebrating Adyson so much the past week, she deserved a turn.

First she sat on the stool while teacher told a few special facts about Sienna. Like her favorite color (red), foods she doesn't like (candy canes), and what she wants to be when she grows up (a mom, cute).

Then she showed the class her poster with fun pictures of her on it. She's been pretty excited to show it off for the past week.
We sang a song about her, she introduced us to her friends, and then she passed out Easter Eggs filled with candy to them. Trav and I just watched beaming with pride. We just love our little Enna bug.

She got to lead the class out of the room, and was wearing her lovely crown. Don't you love the fro underneath?
We agree that Sienna is pretty special and had a great time letting her have a day dedicated just to her. Sienna always makes us laugh, and surprises us. She is such a brave little thing who is willing to try anything and we love her for it. I can't imagine life without her!

Adyson turns 6!!

Watch out world, this little lady turned 6 years old! Do you see the excitement on her face? Adyson's birthday was on Thursday, and being the awesome mom that I am, I hadn't planned anything for her till Thursday night. A friend of mine smartly decided we at least needed to take her to lunch, and it turned out to be quite the affair! And my kids thought the day was even more special because I got them (squeal) the whole kids meal. (This cheap mom usually orders off the dollar menu). Here's a few of her little buddies at lunch. I apologize to anyone who was there and not in our group at the time for the noise... The boys got a table of their own. (Happy to be away from those silly girls). Thursday night Adyson had dance, so she took a little snack for everyone there and came home to pizza, cake and ice-cream and presents! Again, do you see the excitement? It's contagious!

Opening her gifts. She really wanted a camera, and has filled up her memory about 8 times since she got it. Sigh.

Lexi stopped by just in time to eat some cake, making Adyson's b-day even better. She loves Lex!
The day after her b-day her cousin Rheagen performed her first solo at USU and we were able to watch. Isn't she about the cutest thing you've ever seen? She took Queen, and totally deserved it. We Love you Rheagen!
Saturday was Adyson's birthday party with her friends. She chose to have a flower party, and it ended up being a really easy theme to run with. (Any very fitting for Adyson).
I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of my cupcakes. (I felt pretty domestic!)

We made flower necklaces, decorated flower's with flower stickers, and painted flower pots and planted flowers inside. Here they are painting. She has some darling little Friends! Here's Adyson handing out flower suckers to the girls after playing pin the stem on the flower.
I had to laugh at how dizzy these girls get after 3 spins. Some of them missed the mark by a mile!
And present time! Wahoo! She got spoiled rotten. Thanks to all her friends (and their moms), I never have to shop for toys again.
The whole group. Adyson's pretty lucky to have a neighborhood full of great friends. Aren't they all just adorable?

One of her friends gave her a darling spa set, and Sunday morning they put it to good use. I loved these pics, and had to share. Them playing nicely like this can be quite rare!
Painting the nails.

Make-up.
Lovely.

And buffing the heels. This was quite entertaining to watch!Sunday brought the family party. (Are you partied out yet? I am.) She got more gifts, more food, and more cake. Have I mentioned before how much I love to celebrate b-days?

She loved her darling flower cake her Grandma Lorraine made. Complete with sugar bees. Pretty cute, huh.

Sienna was oddly not too jealous of all this Adyson attention. I mean, it just meant more cake for her each time we celebrated. (And she really loves cake!)I think our b-day girl had a really great week. She keeps reminding me it's not totally over because she still gets a gift from her Aunt heather and Uncle jody...spoiled rotten I tell you!

We sure love our little Adyson and think she's pretty special. She makes us laugh constantly and we are always amazed at what a smarty she is.

I plan to now freeze time so she stays 6 and stops growing!

Our Week.

It's been pretty boring around here since we've been back. I spent like a week catching up on laundry, and we all sat in mourning for a while, but now we are happy to be home and enjoying the beautiful spring weather. The ladies have spent hours outside with their friends, and I am enjoying the rare moments of piece and quiet inside the house. I just LOVE this time of year.

Here's how we have spent the past week.

A few days after we got home we found our little Adyson snug in her bed, snuggling with her levi sundress, dolphin from sea world, and her sun hat on her head. It gave us a good chuckle.

I found Sienna and Simon hiding under the desk in the kitchen drawing pictures for each other. I just love watching these two cousins grow together. They are such cute little buddies and Sienna was pretty excited to be back with her Simon.

Travis and I had a good laugh after finding Sienna had got herself dressed in her raincoat, favorite red boots and helmet to go play outside. She wore that outfit for the rest of the night. This pretty much fits our Sienna to a T. She's got such a fun little spirit and a style all of her own.And that's just about it....
We will have an exciting week though because our little Adyson turns 6 this week, and you all know how much I love to celebrate Birthdays, right?!

Day 7 {Sea World}

Sea World was just an absolutely amazing way to end our trip. My mom, the ladies, and I have never been and Trav hasn't been since he was little, so it was all brand new for us. The girls were in awe the whole entire time we were there, and we too, we completely amazed.
The first stop there was to see the Polar Bears and Beluga Whales. It was then that we realized how awesome Sea World really is. The Bears were swimming right up to the glass, and it was just so cool. The Beluga whales were showing off a bit too. Don't they just look sooo friendly? I love them.

The ladies at the Sea Lion Show. (Awesome.)

Trav and I. Notice that by day 7 I opted to just not do my hair. Don't judge me. :)

The dolphins were so much fun! We stayed around there for a good half hour just touching them and watching them do their tricks. They are just so playful. One just loved Adyson and seriously followed her around the pool, and splashed her every chance he got. You can't really tell, but she is soaking wet here due to the dolphin love. (she wasn't super happy, till we explained that that is how they play with you.)
So she decided to go to the glass where the dolphins can't usually splash you. But that same dolphin came right over, and managed to splash her good over the glass. We had a good chuckle over it.

Daddy and Sienna.

Me and Enna gearing up for the Shamu show.

Our little fam enjoying the show.

The Shamu show was ridiculous. We were all in awe the entire time, and it was just so completely unreal, and a great way to end our vacation. We just loved every single thing about Sea world and can't wait to go back!

The next morning we were up and ready for our long drive home. :( Boo.
It was really such an amazing week, and we had a great time. Excellent. We feel pretty blessed to have been able to surprise our kids with such a fun week, and so lucky to have created such beautiful memories together.
Now we must start really praying for spring to make it to Cache Valley, so I don't go completely crazy!

Day 6 {San Diego Zoo}

Travis really wanted to get us to the San Diego Zoo while we were there, and I have to admit, I wasn't super excited about it. I pictured a crowded, super hot, super annoying day ahead. But the zoo was the complete opposite of that. The weather was perfect, making the animals active and ready to put on a show for the ladies. There weren't any crowds and at times we were all alone and just enjoying being outside in the beautiful fresh air. (Remember fresh air?)

As usual Travis was right.
He's always right. When will I learn?
The ladies checking out the tiger pacing right in front of them. Very cool. The Panda bears were just amazing to see! They are beautiful.
The ladies shared a rented double stroller while we were there and spent a good amount of time singing Hannah Montana songs (and occasionally Taylor Swift) at the top of their lungs. We had a lot of people comment on their singing skills...
Here they are eating the most expensive, worst quality lunch ever made. Just thinking about it makes my stomach ache a bit. The kimodo Dragon. I never knew there was such a thing! These things can take down water buffalo for dinner...crazy.

Our little family.
After the zoo we ate dinner at a restaurant called El Indio (featured on Diners, drive-inns, and dives), thanks to my friend Candace for the suggestion. Delish. Then we headed to Sea port village to browse the shops and let the kiddos ride the carousel. They had such a wonderful day.
At the end of the day a quick bath to get off all the grime, and mom, dad, and grandma were pooped. The ladies though? They still had enough energy to put on a little rock concert for us. Seriously, I need a little bit of their energy!
Tomorrow? Sea World.
