The Perfect Weekend. And Summer is here!

Last weekend Adyson deemed "The perfect weekend".
It began with Simon being there when the ladies woke up because his mom, Amy, was finally going to the hospital so Baby Lucy Mae could be born. They played all morning, and then by 12:00 she was here! And she's BEAUTIFUL! We are so excited to have such a sweet little bundle added to our family. I can't take my hands off her. The girls were a little bummed that they weren't able to go back in Amy's room and see her at the hospital so....Proud papa Cody brought her to be seen through the window. Can you see the joy on their faces? They adore her already. We came home and the kids went to play outside while I was cleaning up the house. All of the sudden Adyson came running in super excited. Somehow, while playing around on her bike in the garage, she just up and taught herself how to ride without training wheels. Travis has tried, a few times to teach her. Now I do love this kid, but she is as uncoordinated as they come, and we thought she was a lost cause in the bike riding area. She proved us wrong didn't she? She just had to do it when she was ready, and she hasn't stopped since. We are really proud of her! (I apologize to the neighbors for the cheering and screaming that day!)That night we went to the "restaurant with peanuts". Good food is always part of a perfect weekend, isn't it?Saturday after playing outside all day long, Sienna came in, sat down, and not 3 seconds later was fast asleep sitting up in her chair. We moved her to the couch and she managed to sleep for hours. So very cute. (And I agree that a nap should be a part of EVERY single weekend).
That concludes the perfect weekend portion of this post.

Next up. Summer is here!
Sienna has a pretty strict guideline of how things should work.
There is NO time for:
Cleaning her room.
Doing her hair.
Putting on her shoes.

There is time for:
Playing outside all day long.
Sidewalk chalk (as seen in pic).
Friends, friends, friends.
Popsicles.
Pineapple.
And looking at the stars.

I love this kid!

And just to prove summer is most definitely here, Adyson went and graduated from Kindergarten! Wow, I can't believe how time has flown. She has learned so much this year, and really grown up. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what's in store for her next year.
I love this kid, too!

Divas Dance

Thanks to my Brother-in-law for hooking me up with such great pics of the ladies at their dance recital.
It was a very. very. very. long recital, with 54 dance numbers.
Yes, 54.
My kids were in 7 of those numbers.
But I think watching them dance was totally worth it. They've both really enjoyed it this year, and have learned a lot. Sienna is a little showstopper. She didn't stop grinning, and eyed us the whole time she was dancing, just to make sure we were watching her. Adyson doesn't really love to dance, and I don't think she wants to sign up next year, so I was worried she would hate the recital. Boy was I wrong! She grinned the whole entire time, and has really improved. We were so proud of them both.

Divas I tell you.

Boo.

I've lost my "little wire" that downloads my pics from my camera to my computer.

I can't find it anywhere.
I did however, find the motivation to blog.

Go figure.

When I return you can look forward to:
The Beautiful Baby Lucy is here!!
A dance recital.
A diva learns to ride a bike.
The cutest nap. Ever.
And what Adyson considers "the perfect weekend.)

Get excited.

{Weekend Update}

I love weekends. I mean really, really LOVE weekends.
It seems as soon as Monday comes I am already counting down till Friday.
Anyhoo, here is the sum up of our lovely weekend.
Saturday was Health Days (Smithfield's glamorous celebration). We woke up bright and early to attend the parade.
The ladies love any excuse for candy.

We kept wondering why we weren't still home asleep...
After the parade Travis spent a good chunk of the day putting weed tarp down in the flower beds, weeding, mulching, and redoing all of the flower beds. He's been working REALLY hard to get it all done before he started his radiation. He knew it would be tough to do after due to the rib pain. I am so thankful to have a husband who works so hard for us!

A few weeks ago we got curbing all along the outside of our house and we are so happy with the outcome! There is still a little work to do, but it is coming along nicely.

My Dad and Cody have been here helping out a lot. We are so grateful for family who is always willing to help us out. While Trav and Cody poured some cement on the side of the house (to make a sidewalk and garbage can nook), my dad fixed our steps on the deck. They used to be open so you could see the weeds growing through the bottom. We still have to get some lattice put around the outside and stain it, and the deck will be done.
We took a little yard work break to head up to the fair grounds and watch our favorite little cowboy attempt the mutton busting. Is Simon not the cutest cowboy you've ever seen? And he's smart too, after waiting in line and watching kid after kid fall off the sheep and walk away crying, Simon opted not to ride the sheep. We love this kid!

Mothers day I didn't even bother to get out my camera, but it was a great day. The kids woke me up with a picture of my new red kitchen aid (that daddy ordered 2 days before the big day, and somehow it hadn't gotten here yet...go figure). And then they both got dressed in their church clothes without me asking! That, my friends, is a mothers day miracle! We spent the day at Trav's parents house, eating, watching the kids play, and I even snuck in a nap. And then at my parents house where we ate more food, watched more kids play, and played a few games of our own.
I am so thankful for a day to celebrate the amazing mothers in my life.
I would write what I love about each of them, but just don't feel I have it in me to do them justice tonight.
That being said, I love them, and am always thankful for their examples, and always thankful to them for teaching me to love my children for who they are.
And I feel blessed every day to be a mother myself. Is there a more divine calling? Adyson and Sienna fill our lives with so much joy, and I am honored to be their mom. I think Mothers day is a great way to remind yourself how truly blessed you are.
I hope your weekend was lovely as well! 3 more days till another glorious weekend!

Dragging Main....

This is how we roll.

Sienna and Travis have birthdays, Adyson is in her opera, and I post about a million pics.

Someone please tell me where in the world the time went?! This little lady turned 4 last week. 4! We just love Sienna around here. She is full of life, she is full of energy, and is willing to try anything. She makes friends everywhere she goes and is always willing to give us a big old squeeze. She's one 4 year old who makes us pretty happy!
She was pretty excited to go to school on her b-day and actually asked me to go outside and take pics of her before she left. I tell you, this kid is just a future diva. Or an already diva.
Adyson picked her up from school with balloons.

Then we met Daddy for lunch at the Grist. Sienna just adores their cream cheese brownies, and gobbles them up at every chance.
That night she came home from dance to presents, and she was sooo excited. After watching Simon and Adyson's birthday come and go, she was ready for hers.
Adyson gave her a music box we bought when we went to Disneyland. Sienna had to give Adyson a squeeze, and I had to catch it on camera. It's a rarity!
The next day we had her princess party with her cute little friends. She couldn't wait to put her beautiful dress on, and her crown. She felt just beautiful!

Throwing girly parties is just so much fun!
They had some fairy Godmothers put their make-up on.

We read Princess Peepers, and they each got a pair of peepers of their own.

Opened about a million presents.

Ate some cupcakes and ice cream.
Sienna just LOVES these 2 neighbor girls, and her biggest request was that they come to her party. They were a huge help!
We made princess wands and played pin the kiss on the frog.
After the girls left Seinna sat in the hallway for a good hour inspecting her presents and opening each one. She had so much fun. Sunday Travis turned the big 35. It's sure fun for Sienna and him to have b-days so close together. For Trav's b-day I took him to Salt Lake to the Jazz game, and we stayed overnight. I had planned for him to go golfing on Saturday. Our friends planned on meeting us there in the morning and the boys were gonna golf, and the girls were gonna shop. But the rain really ruined our plans, so instead the boys came and shopped around with us. What good sports they are! It was a great way to celebrate his b-day, I think....
The ladies begged to give him golf balls. Do they know their daddy, or what?

Then Sunday afternoon we had both my family and Trav's family over to celebrate. It was so much fun to have all the cousins over for a visit. Sienna was thrilled Brielle was able to come and play too.

Padin was excited there were other boys here to play with, usually he's kind of bored!
Adyson and Kutter. Best little buds. (Rheagen hung with them for a good chunk of the day too).Sienna's Belle cake from Grandma Lorraine. So cute! More presents..really? We don't want to leave this cutie out! She had her opera at school last week too, and it was just darling. She played a cat, and a cute one at that. In the morning, she got right out there and did her part out loud, and perfectly. At night, she seemed to get a little nervous, but still, the cutest little kitty I've ever seen. I just love her, and thought it was amazing that the kids put the whole thing together. Adyson's teacher is amazing
