Loving my ladies.

Can I just write a pot about how much I love my ladies? Because I. so. do.

This little lady, well, she's acting not so little anymore. She runs out of the house before Kindergarten to get in her carpool, and it's like pulling teeth to get her to say goodbye. She's just ready to go.
And....she's reading! Last night we sat on the couch and she just read to me. Granted, they are beginner books, but man, I am just so proud of her! And she loves it, and it just makes my heart so happy to see!

Her favorite thing right now? She loves to sit in her room on her bean bag and listen to her CD's. Occasionally there is some crazy dancing, and always she sings along. Before I know it she is going to be in there reading 17 magazine and rating boys.
Heaven Help Me.
This little lady, well she has just been making me laugh. Non-stop.
I LOVE this age. (I hate it at times too, I'll admit), but right now she is just so full of life, but still to young to sensor what she is thinking. She's never embarrassed to give me a hug like (ahem, her sister), and she always is giving the fam compliments. If I'm having an "ugly day", I know exactly where to turn!

This morning I woke up a few minutes before the alarm went of (for the 3rd time...), to Sienna crawling in bed with me. She snuggled right in, and said "Mama, I love you." Is there a better way to start the day?
No.
There is not.
Granted 5 minutes later she was a bit mad because she couldn't have candy for breakfast...but still. Sienna just fills out home with joy. Simple as that, she just makes us all smile. She is funny, and so. very. spunky. I just feel so very lucky to have them.

Turns out...

You can make your blog private if you have more than 100 people to invite (thanks to friends who know how to work around this little blogger problem). So I will be closing the blog in one more week. Make sure to let me know if you want an invite. Unless you are an old pervert....you are welcome to view. :)

Lets try this again....

A while back I wanted to make my blog private, only to learn that blogger only allows you to invite 100 people to view your blog after you've made the change. This was at a time when loads of people were checking in to see how Trav was doing.

Now I've made the cancer blog to keep people updated, I'm thinking I may be able to make the switch to private again.

So you know the drill. Leave me your e-mail address, and you shall be invited.

If there are still too many people, I am fine leaving it open, I just thought it would be worth a try.

Snippets...

Wednesday night we ran down to the Homecoming parade. The ladies are always game for a parade. Always.

They love the candy.

They really love the band.

This one didn't love the sirens so much. "Mom, they are soooo loud."But remember, they love candy. And the band. So we are smiling again. I think they are just too pretty.Friday Adyson got to be the "hero for a day" in her class. Her teacher is big on building their self esteem along with giving them the education they need. I LOVE that about her! They are studying the American flag and it's symbols, so for her hero day we had to make the "Adyson Flag". Of course, her flag is in the shape of a flower, and then she decorated each pedal with some of the things she loves.
Travis, Sienna, and I all got to come and tell the class why she is our hero, show some pics of her, read her favorite story, and show them her flag. Adyson LOVED this so much, being the spotlight for a day! What could be better? She also got to wear an "I am special sticker", a hero hat, a hero necklace, and a hero pin.

This was my favorite part of the day (and Adyson's too, I think). All of the students lined up and her teacher announced her, just like they do at basketball games, and she got to run the tunnel giving fives along the way.

What a wonderful teacher she has to do this for those kids! Adyson is such a timid little thing, and I really want her to have a good self esteem. I think she is off to a great start in Kindergarten! Thanks Mrs. H!

Saturday I spent the bulk of the day doing hair, so the ladies were chilling with dad most of the day. They of course, love this. (They are so very much daddy's girls). He decided to wash the car (after I begged him too) and let the ladies help. I think this was the highlight of their weekend. Who knew washing the car could be so much fun?
I had to include this picture because right when it was taken Sienna managed to spray directly over the top of the car and got Daddy all wet. Classic. That pretty much sums things up round' here. Was your weekend fabulous?

Who wants to...

Come watch this with me? I love Patrick Swayze. I was raised on Dirty Dancing (we weren't your typical Sesame Street Family), and am just heartbroken that he passed away, and passed away from Cancer.

Do you know we hate cancer? Do you hate it too? I want to swear at it (I occasionally do), and hit it with a baseball bat.

I found this little quote from him, and love it.

"I keep dreaming of a future, a future with a long and healthy life, not lived in the shadow of cancer but in the light."

I also like this one. (Hello, who doesn't?)

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner".

Sigh. I will miss you Patrick Swayze.

Weekend Update.

Our weekend was filled with goodness. It was just chuck full of fun, friends, food, and family. Delightful.
Friday night we attended the benefit carnival for the lovely Abbott family. The turnout was amazing, and it was just heartwarming to see the community reach out to them. This family deserves that.
The girls from the salon put together a little booth. These ladies have such talent! The flower bows, magnet boards, and hats they made were darling. (I sold handmade cards, most of which I didn't make but collected while in a card group.....I'm telling you, I wish I had their talents!) I wish I would have gotten a picture later in the night when their were a few more salon friends there...but this will do.
Adyson LOVED having her face painted, and was broken hearted when she had to have it washed off before church. I showed them Taylie's picture before we left and told them about her illness, and I was so impressed with how much they really wanted to help. Adyson especially was really touched and took $5 of her own money to donate.
It was a proud moment for me!
Um, a hamburger cupcake! 2 of her favorite things combined!

Friday night after the carnival we had dinner with my family and played a new game, Ticket to Ride. (Have you played? We loved it!)
Saturday we met Trav's family at Willow Park to celebrate my Mother in Law's birthday. It's always fun when we get together, and the cousins enjoyed each other to the fullest. The girls sure love it when they get to see their cousins, aunts, uncles, and of course Grandma and Grandpa.
Here they are all lined up in a row checking out the animals.

The ladies scaling the fence.

We had a great time with you Kidman fam, and wish you the best Birthday Lorraine! We love you and are so grateful for you!
After the picnic, we came home and starting cooking for a bbq with a bunch of our dear friends. The night was perfect with the kids all playing together, and the adults sitting under candlelight with the breeze blowing and eating delicious food. One of those nights where you can't help but be happy with your life.
In fact, I'd say the whole weekend was like that. Trav's starting to feel better, the weather is cooling, our kids are healthy and so happy, and we have friends and family everywhere we turn.
Life is Good.
Here's hoping your weekend was fabulous too!

Weekend Plans?

Our family will be going here Friday night.

You should too.

I can't imagine a better way to spend your Friday night, or a better way to spend a few bucks!

Pre-School.

My littlest lady, Sienna, went and began pre-school today. I'm a bit weirded out that my little bug is old enough for school.

I was completely heartbroken dropping her off today.
Till I went to Wal-Mart.
All by myself.

You know, it's not such a bad place when you have no grumpy, complaining kids with you.

Taking Sienna today reminded me of taking Adyson to her first day of pre-school, and also reminded me of how totally different my little divas are.

Adyson was scared her first day. There were no tears shed, but she was squeezing my hand so tight that I could feel the nerves.
Sienna, well, she just walked right down the stairs, went in, and started playing. I'm trying to remember if she said goodbye....I don't think she did.

What a fun kid that Sienna is! She is a joy to raise, and while sometimes I think about drop kicking her (not really!) while she is being uber dramatic, I just adore her spunk, and her style, and her overall attitude towards life.
Forgive my red eye pics...for some reason I can't get picnik to save my pictures (anyone know why?)..
Sienna and Simon (her cousin) are in the same class. Her teacher said the the 2 of them didn't shut up the whole time! Poor Tana! At least they are cute, right?

Taylie

My friend Lacey's daughter was just diagnosed with AML leukemia. They have launched a beautiful website, with a blog about how Taylie is doing, upcoming fundraisers, and anything you can do to help.

Dancing, 7 Years, Mt. Home

{Dancing}
The ladies began dance class last week. Sienna was so. very. excited. about this. She couldn't wait to get all dressed up in her new dance clothes, and twirl around the house. She is taking with her cute little friend Cate (who is also a curly blond cutie. I feel SO sorry for her teachers...I'm just imagining the trouble those 2 can get in!) I can't wait to see how she does!

Adyson is also taking with a few friends, and is thrilled that they are dancing to a Miley Cyrus song. Dreams can come true people. They can.

{7 years}
Travis and I celebrated our 7th anniversary this weekend. It was different from the other anniversaries we've shared. Normally we spend the weekend in Park City, but this year we opted to go and spend the long weekend with the kids in Mt. Home with my sister and her kiddos. We spent our anniversary lounging around Heather's in our pj's, playing Monopoly, Yahtzee, and Scrabble.
Romantic eh?
Oh the romance doesn't stop there.
Travis also was blessed to wake up to 15 cankers in his mouth on Friday.
15. Or at least I stopped counting somewhere around 15.
He didn't feel much like talking, eating, or doing much of anything, so the distraction of 6 crazy kids, and my fun, crazy family was a really good thing.
I sure love him. It's been a fantastic 7 years, and I'd surely do it all over again.
Now if only we could get rid of those cankers! Oh, and that cancer....:)
Disclaimer: This picture was taken after a VERY long day.

{Mt. Home}
The best part of the weekend was surely watching the cousins play. They have so much fun together, and just entertain one another so much! Brielle and Sienna are fast friends. Brielle is finally old enough to really play with Sienna, and she is just perfect. (Those of you who knew heather as a baby, do you see the resemblance??)

Grandma bought all the grand kids some great little flashlights that have tops that pop on to project Halloween shapes. The kids LOVED these, and spent a good portion of the day hiding in Heathers closet with the door shut telling Halloween stories. Precious. (And such a nice quiet game, us adults weren't complaining!)

Monday we woke up and decided to break up the drive home by stopping in Twin Falls for lunch and a quick trip to the Temple. After we got there we realized that the gates are locked on Monday, so we weren't able to walk around the grounds, but we were still all so impressed with how amazing they are. It is beautiful!
The cousins (except for Simon, who was missed, so much!)

What fun is.

Some snapshots of our little fam at Lagoon.
The carousel, a favorite of the ladies. It makes me sick. Simon, Sienna, and Adyson. So cute.
I LOVE this pic.

Um, do you think Sienna is enjoying herself??

She ate the ENTIRE thing. Seriously, the whole thing.
I'm sick just thinking of it.

And she ate almost this whole thing too. She's like a Carney.

The bumper cars. Side note: check out her guns...seriously, she's ripped.

We rode, ate, stunk, laughed, and seriously had a great time. Happy Birthday Amy Lou.
