Now Adyson is NOT a morning person, and of course, she has morning Kindergarten. So we've been really trying to pull her out of bed and get her ready the last few weeks so she can be prepared. Today though, instead of her whining about how tired she was, she just popped out of bed, got dressed, ate breakfast, and wanted to go.
She was excited. And so nervous.
Here's last years back to school picture:
And this years:
She wouldn't admit to the nervous part, but the small hives on her stomach and neck clued me in.
As we were driving to school she told me that she "didn't need me to walk her in" and she "knows exactly where she needs to go".
Um, no. I walked her in. (I mean come on, let me have my mommy moment)!
I think it was a successful day. No tears were shed (on her part at least), and she talked non stop about it for most of the day.
We are so proud of Adyson, and so excited to see all the things she will learn this year. This is one timid, smart, funny, shy, lovable, and oh so special kid. Those of you who have read the blog for a long time, or who know Adyson, know that a few years ago she wouldn't even go to the neighbors house because she was too shy and scared. Now look at her, a Kindergartner! And a brave one at that!
And don't you think she is just beautiful?

Oh Haylee - face it ... you have raised a fine little lady! So CUTE ... BTW I think we need to have a little class on hair 101. I could seriously use some help on cute hairstyles for little girls
I know i am just the aunt. But OMG she shouldn't be old enough to go to school.
But anyways she is so cute! I can't wait to hear all about it.
I bet that is so hard as a mom to send your kids off to school. I know it's going to be here before I know it with Ellie.
i can't believe our girls are so big already, i hate that they are going to school, although my house is somewhat quite for a few hours without her harrassing her brother and i have one less child to yell at! i still want you to chop off her hair when i can manage to see it go!
will you ask trisha to re-invite me to her blog, i can't get on.
I bet she is so proud of herself, knowing how far she has come! I'm glad it was such a positive experience for you and not a tearful one! She's just beautiful.
She is adorable, I tell you about every time I comment. I loved the picture with the Sunrise Elementary sign because it brought back memories. Man, so long ago. And Kirsten is right, she always has fabulous hair!!!
Kindergarten already. She looks so grown up and ready to go. All of my kids have trouble waking up but for the first few weeks it seems to be ok. Then as the newness wears off so does the waking up happy. I hope she is different for you :)
She looks so big and yet so small. I hate sending them off to grow up. it makes me sad. who is her teacher?
