Adyson is sick this morning. It's raining outside, and we are all feeling lazy. I spent this morning sitting here letting the kids watch "toons" and have been blog hopping for a while. I haven't had the time to just sit and read strangers blogs for a while....(is it weird that I do that?)
Anyways, I stumbled on a post about mothers and in the comments section you were supposed to write your mom's best words of wisdom (the best one wins a prize.) I, who loves free stuff, tried to think of my mom's best words of wisdom.
Before I give them to you, I have to say that I had plenty to choose from. But these words are the words that I will use with my kids nightly. I am sure that they are the strongest and smartest words my great mom has ever said to me.
"I'll wait up for you."
And she did. Whether I got home at 10 p.m. or 2 a.m. my mom was always in the front room waiting. Sure, sometimes she would doze off, but as soon as we opened the door she would sit up and talk to us about our night. Sometimes it was nothing more than a few words, but she was always there and I always had to look her in the eyes.
It helped me make better choices because I knew if I made the wrong choice, she would know instantly. And trust me, when I did make wrong choices....she knew.
So now that I am a parent, I am going to use this one! So in honor of the approaching mothers day, I would love to hear your mom's best words of wisdom. What are you taking from her and using on your kids?

I was actually telling someone, just the other day, how grateful I am that mom always waited up for us!
I dont know exactly, my mom Im sure told me many many words of wisdom and she too always waited up for me. I love that NOW that she did that, but hated it then sometimes:) One My mom still to this day tells me is "be the better person". Sometimes I really hate it. when i want to be grumpy or sad or whatever, she just says be positive and be the better person and she means it in SO many ways. She has had a hard life in many ways so I think she just wants me to be strong no matter what comes my way. But in some ways it really has helped and does make me think more positive for others no matter what:) I dont know if that made any sense, kinda a hard one to explain, but one of many:)
I'm going to have to think on this one....my mom has always been so full of wisdom and I find myself quoting her daily! I'll think on it tonight and let you know tomorrow. Plus, I only had time to read this post of yours....I have so many to catch up on! I just need more time in my day!! Your post made me tear up though! You just have a wonderful talent for writing!
Ok....I thought about it. The infamous "remember who you are and what you stand for."
I love that your mom waited up for you, I think that is a great idea. I can't think of words of wisdom, but I remember right after my parents divorced and my mom was working full time and going to school (She some how got really good grades too) Iwould go into her room where she was studying late at night and many times I found her on her knees crying. I know who my mom always turned to for help. Great post!

I love this post, what a fun idea. I agree also you have a talent for writing. I'll have to think about this one, I was just doing a quick run through, so I'll have to get back to you on this one. Love the idea though.
My mom always said "It's only as hard as you make it" and it use to drive me crazy-especially when I was in college. Well, it backfired on her when she returned to college 10 years ago and she was complaining that her brain was too old for school, and you can imagine the wonderful words of wisdom i had for her! She just smiled :O)
