Bless the Dandelions

This is Adyson's new obsession. Collecting Dandelions. I remember doing this as a child, but she is taking it to a new level. Here are her prized possessions.I think she may have gotten a bit of my O.C.D.ness. The dandelions have to be placed root down in the water, and there can't be too many in one cup. She has to add a few rocks to each cup, you know, it's important. The water level has to be just right.

Tonight during family prayer she blessed them.

Which leads me to wonder 2 things. First-How hard is it gonna be to kill these beauties now that she has the big guy on her side, and Second-Is it wrong that we ARE planning on killing them so soon after she prayed for them?
Oh well. I guess she will have to find another hobby. I'm going to try to teach her to dust and hope that she takes it to this extreme. Wish me luck.

I totally relate - I heard every day last summer - "here are some flowers I picked just for you mommy!" I don't know where she could always find them, but she did. Just be thankful they aren't the neighbors prize tulips...

Why are dandelions so appealing to little kids? We all loved them at that age- maybe it's the color or the fact that they're everywhere and nobody tells you not to pick them. I love that they are all lined up in cups- what lovely decor! I loved all Sienna's bday pics and post too. What a beautiful family you have. How's the new diet?

Macy mostly loves to give dandelions as gifts (don't forget to take them with you, seriously.) But they are DAISYS, not dandelions. Don't dare try to tell her different.

That is to funny. Good luck getting rid of them. I hate the smell of dandelions. Is it just me??

Once again, my cute neice has me giggling! I think it's time to accept the dandelions. That kid doesn't give up easily!

PS I am in the middle of reading New Moon. I don't like it as much as the first one. Edward better come back. Its hard for me to do anything else but read. I'm a bad mom, I'm sure!

I'm with Ady on this one! Bless the dandilions!!! I had a teacher once that was from Arizona, and she couldn't believe that we considered dandilions weeds! She said she would kill for a lawn full of beautiful flowers! :) I love your tribute to Enna....I sure do love that girl!

What? Are you kidding me? What in the world would Ady dust? Her mother 409's the doors weekly, and washes sheets when she has shirt parties. I don't think theres a speck of dust in your house.
I'm not judging or making fun of you. I really wish I was like you. I'm OCD about many other things:)! One day when I have a house... it will be spotless!!!

That is too funny! She needs to come to my neighborhood. I've got some neighbors up the street that their yard is so full of them that you wouldn't even know that grass exists!

Too funny, It must be genetic. Mirelle does the same thing. She thinks dandelions are Heavenly Father's most beautiful creation. Glad they love the simple things. Just wait until about a week. The water starts to smell quite NASTY!

Gotta love kids!! They really make life fun! Paige picked me some dandelions of my own yesterday... She was so proud of them. She brought them in and was so sad when I called them dandelions. She insisted that they were "flowers"!!You kids are so cute!

Hanne and Fam said...

Now I understand why the other day Lexi was so insistent on me putting her dandelions in a cup of water for Ady. Sorry for adding to the madness! I didn't think they would ever make it to your house but I see the cup in the lineup!
