Some Weekend Moments...

Adyson got her ears pierced when she was Sienna's age. It was a spontaneous move with Aunt Amy egging her on and telling her "it wont hurt a bit...".

Guess what, it hurt. She cried, and we all felt pretty bad about it.

But you've seen the results, she is quite smitten with her earrings now. She wants to change them often, and her slogan is: The bigger and shinier the better. (Don't worry, we don't buy earrings too big or too shiny. To her dismay.)

So with Sienna we took a much more honest approach. She has said she wants pretty earrings like Ady, and we have told her that it hurts for a little while. And each time she has changed her mind. And we weren't pushing it. But on Friday she decided she was ready. We gave her till Saturday morning, and she didn't change her mind. So off to the torture chamber we were.

She sat right on Trav's lap, and smiled up till those guns went off. And then there were tears. And boogers to compliment them.

How do you calm a 2 1/2 year old down after such pain? With cookies. Always with cookies.
She was calmed down after her sugar, and after my Aunt Sue took her shopping for a fun surprise. And she does think she looks beautiful.

They learn early here: Beauty is pain.

I personally think they are quite beautiful with messy hair and dirty faces, but it is really fun to watch Sienna feel so pretty.Saturday night was spent playing games with the family. My Uncle went and purchased a Season's pass to The Beav so it has been fun to get to see them a bit more often. We had a great time playing Curses (watching Sue faint and my Dad try to speak in a "French" accent were highlights), Killer Bunnies (who won that first game? Oh ya, me), and just chatting the night away. When the night came to an end the men were tired, but the girls weren't quite ready for the fun to end, so we all came to my house and watched Mamma Mia.

Simon was the only boy allowed. (He's kind of always allowed at my house, I love this kid!)

Sue lusting over Pierce. Yes, I said Pierce. Some people have questionable taste....

We let Adyson stay up late with us. She of course, loved having a totally girly night. Honestly I'd rather watch her sing than the movie itself. She sure loves to ABBA songs. It's so much fun watching her grow up and just love having a ladies night.

I really wanted to Edit this picture, but PICNIK isn't really working for me right now. This is pretty much my idea of a great Ladies Night. Hanging out in PJ's, feet propped up, fire blazing, good movie, Lots of laughs. Lots of fun!

The only thing that would have made this night better? Heather, Linsey, Amber, and Camille. You were missed!

Yeah, you're right, it's best Sienna learns it at the tender age of 2: beauty is pain :) It looks like a lovely weekend, full of lots of manly things for Trav!

She looks so cute and she really does look so grown up to me lately. Sounds like a fun time. I think I am going to let Bradlee decided when she wants earrings to... even though I think it looks so stinkin cute when babies have earrings... You are such a cute and fun momma.

I love the earings. I told Allie when she turns 5 she can have them. Matt doesn't want her to. I think it's because he doesn't want his little girl to be grown up. I really can't wait until she gets it done.
ps I also like Pierce. is that bad?

She looked SOOOOOOOOO cute at church. They didn't even look red. What a little Diva!

Luck-E-duck. What a fun weekend you had. I have weekend envy.

No word verification, so, we'll leave it at that.

I don't think you should be allowed to have girl nights without me! Boo hoo!
Tell Sienna that I love her pretty ears. She is so tough!

Sooo adorable! The whole earring thing has been so much drama with our family. Being (partly hispanic), Isabella should have had her ears pierced about......22 months ago (a couple months after being born). But, my husband is a total wuss, and I refuse to do it alone. We have even driven around the mall parking lot 3 times in a day deciding whether or not to park the stupid thing. Maybe, I will do what you did, and just wait until she can verbalize that is what she wants :O)

OK now....wheres the picture you took of yourself and Linda....It couldn't have looked as bad as my picture! Pierce is not that bad...the gray hair on his chest did kinda make me gag...but I could shave it off for him! You still need to see Thomas crown affair....he's hot it that show! I had a blast this weekend, your girls are so cute and fun and so are you...you must have a good teacher..(Your Mom!) thanks for the fun time...love ya Sue

How fun, I am sad I wasn't able to participate. I think you all really have to save your pennies for a trip to see me in CT. I must say the Pierce thing is hereditary, love him! I wish Mirelle would get the guts to have her ears pierced. She is petrified, I won't push it. She said maybe she will in College. Sienna looks lovely!

Sienna looks super cute with her ears pierced! I remember when I got mine done, I finally talked my mom into it when we went school shopping for my Kindergarten year. Ha ha ha, the things you remember. The girls night looked fun too. I need to watch Mama Mia, I watched half of it on the plane from Korea to Tokyo, but the pilot kept talking and interrupting it so it didn't have time to finish. I need to know the end!!!!

What is your cousin Linsey up to these days? I haven't seen her since we had Physiology together in college!!

Love the Earrings! I haven't even brought it up with Paul of when Ellie will get them done. I figure it will be awhile. They look very cute on your girls though which makes me want to do it sooner-we'll see.
Don't you just love Mama Mia I think I could watch it over and over and never get tired of it. A lot of it has to do with the music I think.

Aw, earrings are so fun!! I got them when I was 2 or 3- its good to do it while they are young!

If you really are interested in my camera I will do mini session of your girls or your family for free on my new backdrops or at a location with my new camera :) Maybe that will help persuade Trav. Lol

Sienna looks so cut with her ears peirced. I have always told HAnna when she is eight she can have her ears peirced. But lately I am thinking about letting her do it earlier. It was so fun to see you the other day. I don't miss work but I miss hanging out with you and all the other girls.

We almost got Cate's done with her cousin over Thanksgiving, but got too busy. You'll have to give me some tips on how to prep them and console them afterwards. I think the cookie would really do it, Sienna and Cate must be quite alot alike. Sugar fixes anything!
I feel so bad you were having such a rough time while Travis was gone. Send the girls over whenever you need a break next time.
