Road Trippin'

Heather and Jody have a very broken computer, and were in desperate need for my super smart man to fix it for them. Being that Heather is the best soccer mom alive, they haven't been here in a while, and probably wont be coming any time soon. (Track, soccer, violin, piano, and football=they have No time.) So my mom and I offered to meet them 1/2 way in the beautiful town of Burley.
I told the girls it would be a very long drive just to see their cousins for an hour, but they were both so excited that Adyson woke up extra early, walked into my room and said "Let's go!" And a few hours later we were off.

Here is the conversation when we hit Tremonton.
Ady-Mom, are we almost there.
Me-No, remember it's a really long drive.
Ady-I'm Car sick though.
Me-What do you mean?
Ady-Mom, it means I'm sick of the car.

We laughed about that!
But a little AbbA (actually a lot of AbbA, they listened to it the whole way there and back), cured the car sickness, and they started enjoying the ride. Notice the hand holding, it melted my heart.

Us lunching. We don't need to discuss my terribly unflattering picture. (I only have 1 chin. really.)Tray and Kutter. Oh, I miss those boys already!

Oh sweet Brielle. This girl just smiles and runs. She is all dimples! I just love her and hated having to let her go!

Adyson had a great time with the kids, and was thrilled to see them, but not so thrilled to come home. And stayed awake by singing her words to AbbA songs.

You know this version.

Money, Money, Money, ain't it funny...

She sings

Monday, Monday, Monday, ain't it Funday.

Me and my mom were laughing so hard we were tearing up a bit.Sienna fell asleep in downtown Logan. You know, when we had 10 minutes left on our drive. Of course.

It was great to see you guys the other day, we miss you and hope when all your hoop-la calmes down we can see you for more then an hour, but hey-we'll take what we can get!

Curly Q

The other day-out of boredom, I blew my little bug's hair dry straight. Keeping in mind that it usually takes about 2 minutes to do her hair, she wasn't thrilled with how long this took. Nor was she thrilled with the blow dryer (it's scary mommy.) Or the flat iron (I don't like that thing), oh yes, she has attitude. I tried, and tried, and tried to get a cute little smiley straight hair picture, but apparently she holds a grudge, so instead I got glares. Enjoy-Enna bug with straight hair.

The second it was done I missed her lovely curls-and doubt the straightening will happen again anytime soon. You don't mess with perfection.
"Why are you torturing me?"

This is my favorite. This is Sienna's pout pose. She folds her arms, glares a bit, and usually stomps around the house when she is upset. The view from the back.
Oh and thanks for all your great book suggestions. I can't wait till we get to some of them. Hanne, thanks for bringing some over-we are reading Ella Enchanted right now and Adyson is loving it.

Charlotte's Web

For the last little while before bed Adyson and I have been reading Charlotte's web. We read one chapter each night and tonight we finished. I had forgotten how beautiful this book is-and really enjoyed sharing it with Adyson. I wasn't sure if she would enjoy a chapter book, or if she would get bored, but she really loved it. And tonight when we read about Charlotte dying, Adyson's sweet eyes filled up with tears. (And watching this mine did too.)
Anyone have any ideas for our next book? All the books I remember loving when I was younger are still a bit to old for her. (Island of the blue dolphins, summer of the monkeys...) I need something easy and young. Help me! :)

Shake*Shake*Shake*Shake*ah Shake It.....

Just another day in the Kidman house. There's a whole lot of booty shakin' going on around here.

Shoes, PJ's, Painting...again, and the Primary Program

This is what happens when you tell your 4 year old and 2 year old to hurry and grab a pair of shoes. Sienna chose her very fashionable moon boots. Adyson chose her sneaks (she calls them her "running" shoes), with her nightgown, and on the wrong feet of course. My mom is CRAZY and loves to have my girls over for sleepovers. They usually consist of treats, late night movies, and lots of laughs. This Friday she took them and spoiled them rotten with these new PJ's. How freakin' cute are they? Thanks mom-for the jammies, and for letting Travis and I have a day to just sleep in! (Do you just love Sienna's Bed head?)

And here is paint project #4,235. (I'm exaggerating. A little bit.) It began by just repainting and priming the peeling door frame, and then somehow went from white to black. (Thank you Travis.) I'm thinking we are done painting for quite a while now.....but I may eat my words.....

But the best part of this weekend is that Adyson was in her first ever primary program today. (We are quite the pathetic doting family, in case you can't tell, both sets of grandparents came-and Tiff came too.) She got right up on the microphone and very slowly and clearly said her part. We were proud. Pathetically proud. She has come a long way this year, and overcome her very scared and very shy fears. We are so happy for her!

Happy Birthday Grandma

We all just wanted to wish Grandma Lorraine a Happy Birthday! We love you and hope you had a great day and didn't do too much laundry.

I asked Adyson and Sienna just now why they love Grandma.

Adyson says-She always plays play dough with us, and we play outside, and she is always nice.
(All true.)

Sienna says-Because. To which I replied, beause she is sooo much fun-and she said Yes. (So there you have it.)

We love you Grandma. Thanks for everything you do for all of us!

*Six*

Today we celebrate 6 years of marraige. Go us!

Here are a few reasons I totally dig my husband. Still.

He loves his family.

He is a great Balance beam.

He is a lovely snuggler.
He is a fighter.

He loves to get his picture taken. (Total sarcasm.)

Oh, and he digs me too.

Love you T. Loads. and. Loads.

My Girls

Adyson came running into the living room this morning quite proud of herself. She made her bed all by herself (and it about killed me, but I didn't redo it). She put on her new school outfit all by herself. She asked if she could be in charge of Simon and Sienna while I did a hair cut. (I totally let her think she was.) (Till she became very. very. bossy!) She spent half the day playing with friends and is already planning her weekend, and just before I tucked her in asked what she could wear tomorrow. (I didn't start doing that for years to come.)

It's the 3rd day of pre-school and I think she has grown into a 12 year old. I find myself with sadness that she is growing up right before my eyes, to pride that she is doing so much on her own. I hope one day she finds a balance between staying little and acting big.

Sienna is still my baby-but today she learned a new trick. (If you can't tell-she is doing the sign for rock n roll.)
I'm seriously starting to wonder what she is going to be like when she gets older. Lead Guitarist in a chick band is where I'm picturing her right now. This one's always making us laugh!

My name is Hayley and I am a Blog Stalker.

Yes, it's true. When I started blogging I spent a good amount of my nights patrolling the blog world, I only knew a few other bloggers, so it I had time to waste. (pathetic?)

Then I found more friends, and the stalking lessened, and almost stopped altogether.

Then Blogger came out with the sidebar that tells you when someone last posted. And I find myself with free time to surf the web. (yes, I still say that.)

I'm a bit of a night owl, only intensified by worry (yes, I'm using the cancer excuse again. Because I can). So on sleepless nights, I stalk now and again.

The other day I linked from my friend Amanda to Cjanerun.com. She is a Mormon mother to a newborn baby, and an incredible writer. Her posts will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. I'm sure in the past I have read her blog before, but was amazed by what I read there. Her sister, who is also a blogger, was in a private plane crash. She, her husband, and their flight instructor were the only ones in the plane. The flight instructor passed away and she and her husband are both in the hospital with very severe burns. Her's covering most of her body. They have a very young family and a very scary and very long recovery ahead of them. Cjane has taken her children from Arizona where they live, to Utah where she lives, to take care of them while Stephenie and Christian recover.

Anyways, I wanted to post the link to her blog so you can read about all of this from her very much more eloquent prospective. This story makes me thankful for families with huge hearts, being able to be with my kids, and have my normal-boring-everyday life. How easily we take that for granted! I browsed through Stephanie's blog today for a bit and thought of what an amazing gift that is to her children. When they miss her, and they must miss her, they have a beautiful representation of who she is through her blog.

Read here. Have tissues. And if you have some extra $, donate. Apparently recovery will be in the millions.

Diva goes to school.

Adyosn had her first day of pre-school today. She was more than excited and I couldn't even get her to say goodbye to me after I walked her in. She was too busy reuniting with her friends. There were a few mom's shedding tears as they left the room today, and I felt like total crap because I was thrilled to send her back. (Don't judge me!) I can't wait to have a few hours of Sienna time, and I think school is so good for Adyson.

Here she is in the outfit she finally decided on. It's tough being a diva.

Here is last years and this years back to school pic, I can't believe how much she has grown over the last year. I thought it was kind of fun to compare the two.

This is my favorite pic of the day. Her greeting her teacher and friends, do you see the pure joy on her face? I must be a really boring mom if she gets that excited for school to start...

The super important "hanging up the backback pic."

Here she is when I picked her up. She was so thrilled to be back!

Snippets from our weekend....

We played some "Rock Band", the cheaper, kid friendly, Kidman version.

Adyson was on the flashlight/microphone. (Of course.)
Sienna was jammin' on the playschool guitar. Travis was on the princess figurines/drums. I of course, was the paparazzi.

Fun was had by all.
We enjoyed the rain.

The girls were thrilled to have Daddy home all day today.

Adyson starts school tomorrow and we wanted to make her night special. My cousin always does a back to school dinner for her daughter, and we decided to start that tradition tonight. We let Adyson plan the menu. Mac-n-cheese-of course, Steamed Carrots, Garlic Bread, Chocolate Milk, and Sundaes for Dessert. Daddy picked her some of our flowers and put them in a vase, and that made her whole night. During dinner she kept telling us how this is the best day of her whole life. (She says that a lot though.) After dinner Travis gave her a fathers blessing, to which she as cheesily as possible, gave him a big thank you hug and said once again that-this was the best day of her life.

Next was the fashion show where she had to show dad a few of her new outfits and pick which one she wanted to wear. She takes this pretty seriously! She can't wait for tomorrow and I am excited to see what this year will bring.

Here's a few pics from the fashion show. My sister Heather actually asked me to post every outfit I bought her. I won't do that, but here are a few just for you Heather!

You like this pose? What a ham!
